Small Progress Update + Excerpt
IT'S SO CLOSE TO BETA-READY, GUYS, I SWEAR ON MY DEMO. Word count is creeping closer to 200k every day and this is only Chapter 2. I don't understand how this has happened. Anyway...
You will have the rare opportunity to define one precious aspect of MC's forgotten past in the next chapter!
"My only concern was to find a mortal willing to make a deal. As for you..."
⮞ "—you were desperate," U murmurs apathetically.
⮞ "—you were convenient," U sighs, with a half-shrug.
⮞ "—you were alone," U says simply.
Couldn't tell you why, but for some reason I really enjoy these three choices. They are all so distinct, and each one paints a different portrait of the MC, at least in my eyes. Although not the most important decision in the chapter, the question of what led your MC to U - or what led U to them - is an intriguing one.
It may never be answered in a satisfying way, but at least you'll know this much. If U is to be believed, of course...
That's another question altogether, isn't it?
While editing GoB this past week, I've also decided how tall the twins are! HERE is the updated blog post if you're at all interested in that. Now I must code the very last scene and play the game 300 more times to be sure I didn't break anything.
